I’m Stephen Robertson, and I specialize in home loans for Auckland’s Central and Eastern Suburbs. As an ex commercial banker and Chartered Accountant, the skillset I bring to your situation, helps set our firm apart. I have been advising on lending since 2003 and running My Money since 2013. I am a Chartered Accountant and a former ANZ commercial banker, so I understand how financial institutions operate from the inside, and that gives the clients I work with a distinct advantage.
From 2010 to 2013 I was a Relationship Manager in commercial banking at ANZ in the Auckland CBD, looking after businesses with a turnover of $2 million and above. I have seen how banks assess an application from the inside, so I know what they look for. I use that to choose the right lender for you and to present your application clearly, in its best light.
I qualified as a Chartered Accountant through NZICA in January 1993, with experience at KPMG, and I hold a Bachelor of Management Studies (Accounting) from the University of Waikato. That is a real advantage if you are self-employed, run a business or own investment property, because your accounts are rarely simple.
I have been advising on lending since 2003, when I started as a mortgage adviser with my own firm, Capital Care Finance, arranging finance for businesses and home owners. Today I hold the NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) with the specialist Residential Lending strand, and My Money is a registered Financial Service Provider and a member of Financial Advice NZ.
I structure your loans correctly, working with your accountant, protect your assets, working with your lawyer, and help you become debt free as fast as possible. I am equally happy helping a large-scale investor or developer, or a first home buyer. It is not uncommon for me to arrange finance for a client after earlier attempts have failed.

My day to day contacts include top real estate agents, experienced lawyers, building inspectors, and valuers in Auckland. As a result much of my work comes from referrals via my large network who share a mutual trust and passion for our customers’ best interest.
Though My Money is based in Remuera, it is not unusual for me to secure loans for customers in the wider Auckland area. We are happy to service all Auckland Eastern Suburbs: Stonefields, St Heliers, Glendowie, Glen Innes, Mission Bay, Kohimarama, Orakei, Meadowbank and St Johns, but these days with Zoom and other contact possibilities we really can go Auckland and New Zealand wide. Furthermore, my experience extends to speaking at a Finance Expo in Singapore and arranging finance for international investors.
My Money has clients throughout New Zealand and in other countries, including Australia, the UK, the USA and South Africa. A speciality is helping Kiwis relocate back home.
